Tennis Forehand Drive

The forehand drive is a classic stroke in the game. The stroke is hit with an eastern forehand or a semi western grip.

The most fundamental target for the forehand drive is deep into the court and crosscourt. The ball is directed at least three feet above the net to achieve the depth of approximately three feet from the baseline.

The swing pattern is low to high with a vertical racket face. The technique will produce topspin and lower the risk of hitting into the net or beyond the baseline.

The follow through is long and around the non dominant shoulder with the hitting elbow elevated.

Other forms of the forehand and backhand will be described in conjunction with additional videos.
